Sustainability
Small Collections
All Just Margo clothing is made in small collections. This means there is no overproduction and therefore no clothing is thrown away, which is usually the case in fast fashion companies.
Fair payment
Everything is handmade and is therefore paid at least the German minimum wage. A part of the sustainable clothing industry that goes unnoticed is the production time for each garment, which is fairly compensated at Just Margo.
Sustainable Fabrics & Design
Every piece from Just Margo is made from natural materials such as cotton (OEKO-TEX Standard 100 product class 1) or from 100% recycled materials in the labels.
All garments are designed to produce as little fabric scraps as possible. If I still have fabric scraps, I use them for scrunchies or earrings .
In addition to small collections, fair pay and sustainable fabrics, Just Margo wants to ensure that every piece of clothing is worn more often. Several studies show that on average a piece of clothing is only worn between 7 and 10 times. Other studies reveal that people don't even wear 50% of their wardrobe.
Thanks to the different wearing options, you can create your look completely differently every time. With the adjustable part of the concept, I hope that every piece of clothing always fits you. People gain or lose weight over time. Bodies change, and that’s okay <3. Garments should adapt to your body, not the other way around.
Example: Zero-waste sewing pattern vs. regular sewing pattern:
At Just Margo, all sewing patterns are optimized so that there are as few fabric scraps as possible. Here you can see a concrete example of my wrap top pattern (left) and a regular wrap top pattern (right).
Packaging
For packaging I use cardboard envelopes and leftover satin ribbons. I excluded from the process anything that goes straight into the trash, such as tissue paper, stickers, and unnecessary labels/cards.
